‘Taking pride in our place’ was the heart behind this Early Years outdoor installation at Russell Scott Primary School, Denton.
Working closely with the Head teacher, Steve Marsland, we were able to come up with a design which encapsulated that all-important ‘sense of place’ for the children in the school.
We wanted to embrace Denton’s industrial heritage. From the fantastic 25ft Skyline traverse wall to the iconic Manchester Milltown worker bee we captured something of Denton’s amazing and unique history.
The Mad Hatter’s Workshop flowed from the time when Denton was the centre of the hat making world. Our bespoke design with pigeon holes and plenty of table top workspace enables children to come up with their own fantastic designs.
For children living in cities the opportunity to play outside is vital and we have loved every minute of crafting and shaping this urban natural play space
