DINOSAUR HUNTING and FOSSIL FINDING

DINOSAUR HUNTING and FOSSIL FINDING

Kids love finding treasure and England’s many rocky beaches are the perfect place for a treasure hunt. Shells, driftwood, mermaids purses and crab claws are among the usual finds… but a visit to the North Yorkshire coast meant the chance to find a genuine dinosaur.

Ammonites, Belemnite fossils seem to hide under every rock on the beaches of Robin Hoods Bay and Whitby, and turning over a pebble to find the swirl of 200 million year old ammonite is an awesome feeling.

How could I recreate that excitement in our Cool Canvas bespoke play areas?

Sand pits and mud pits can have all sorts of natural treasure hidden in them. Shells, stones, twigs, conkers and pieces of bark are children’s favourites to collect and sort and all can be sourced locally and naturally.

Our Latest design is the Gold rush panning table which is a purpose built table with an inbuilt sieve to so children can fill and empty cartons of sand looking for the buried treasure.
